FORAGING USEFUL WILD PLANTS — EDIBLE, MEDICINAL, UTILITARIAN — PLUS, LEARN SHELTER BUILDING

April 1, 10 a.m.

We will explore a watershed area, seeing native and introduced plants.

You will learn about edible plants, medicinal plants, various useful plants.

While in the field, we will work on a natural lean-to shelter so you learn what it takes to safely spend the night outdoors.   You will learn — by doing — and you will gain an understanding of the basics of a primitive shelter.  Back at the tables, we’ll look at materials you can carry with you to make your shelter-building more effective.

On our walk, you will learn  how to identify food plants, plants for making fire, plants for shelter, and medicine plants.

Join us for an insightful walk into a wild area,and learn to make a shelter. 

 

 

 

Dress comfortably and bring water.  you might also consider bringing gloves. The trail will be more or less flat.
