SUMMARY:WILD FOOD FORAGING Class\, with Fire workshop
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 9\, 10 a.m. \nJoin us as we explore the ethno-botanical treasures of this wild area.  We will  learn about the common in-season wild foods\, and  the many introduced wild foods (mostly from Europe)\, as well as the many native foods that have been used for millenia.   And we’ll see how the  rains have affected this area.  We might see wild mushrooms. \nWe will also be examining the plants that would be useful for making fire without matches. \n  \n \nAt the end of our  walk\, you’ll have a chance to practice a few ways of  making fire without matches.  You can never have enough practice with these skills.  See if you can do it! \n \n  \nA wonderful way to spend a Saturday with like-minded folks.  We will also make a wild salad from what we find in season\, and  we will probably cook up some wild soup too\, so be sure to bring your bowl. \n \nHahamongna\, exact location to be sent. \nBring a camera and notebook for your benefit. Carry water. \n  \nBooks by Nyerges will be available at the walk. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, February 15\, Noon. \nETHNO-BOTANICAL WALK  focusing on Identifying wild EDIBLE and medicinal plants\, and mushrooms \nwe may find. \n  \n  \nWe will do a short walkabout.
