WILD FOOD OUTING, with cooking, and a lesson on wild clay

January 3 @ 10:00 pm
$45.00 – $65.00

Saturday, January 3, 10 a.m.

WILD FOOD OUTING

Toyon berries

Folks, this will be an excellent way to bring in the new year.  We will go on a short walk to explore an area and learn about the wild plants, and their edible and medicinal uses.

Rain is predicted, so wear raingear and good shoes.

We will study the diverse flora and we’ll have an opportunity to make a fire and do some light cooking.

Because of the predicted rain, this will not be a strictly clay workshop, as had been stated before.  The clay will be a secondary lesson, depending on the weather.   This will work only if the rain is light.

Students examining fresh chicken-of-the-woods

Otherwise, come and enjoy your time outdoors learning about plant and how they can be used for teas, salads, soups, and medicines.  Also you’ll learn about those plants used for fire in a traditional manner.

Hahamongna Watershed Park; exact meeting spot given upon registration.

Bring water, a bowl, and knife.  Bring your snacks if necessary.
